What IF ------ The US were invaded ?

Perhaps the first thing to consider is the basic tenets of the infamous Chinese strategist Sun Tzu, namely: know your enemy.

It is very unlikely an enemy would be very successful in an air attack, even with nuclear weapons. The US out guns most in this area. Even with air attack, the fighting would soon be "on the ground".

We have learned from Iraq, it is very difficult to win in a gorilla type war. This is the enemy we must consider. It is impossible to keep people out of the USA. We can check passports and all that rigmarole, but those really wanting to come into this country by air or sea could likely accomplish it.

I am not talking about suicide bombers, or "terrorists". I am talking about trained soldiers. I call them soldiers because they are acting as an army with a plan of action. They strike a target, and quickly move on to another target farther away.

The USA will not (I hope) bomb areas of our city's hoping to eliminate these gorilla soldiers who would be long gone.

No, if the USA were invaded in this way, it would be necessary to have our defenses in every area of the United States. Every town every city, every place people exist.

The Founders saw the need for this and created the POSSE COMITATUS. The Posse Comitatus is not a federal organization, it is a State organization, The Governor of the State is the Commander and Chief. Federal has no jurisdiction of the State Posse Comitatus. [The Federalist # 29]

US Constitution, Article II: A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

Each community has Veterans, hunters, people who have marksmanshio and experience with guns. It is for defending our communities that our US Constitution guarantees the right to keep and bear arms. It is not an "extra", it is an essential to protect our States.

The posse could be utilized for any emergency such as flood, fire, tornado or security as well as any State emergency.

Switzerland requires gun safety and marksmanship be taught in school. Every Swiss Citizen is expected to own and maintain a gun. This is their "army" for the defense of Switzerland. I must also point out that Switzerland has less burglary and murder than any other Nation.

Unfortunately the present Republican Administration has undermined the Posse Comitatus Act with a signing statement.

I ask you to contact your State officials and ask them to enlist responsible people for your State Posse Comitatus. We must ask our Federal legislatures to recognize and reestablish the State Posse Comitatus act immediately. It is a Constitutional mandate.

After all, we are responsible for ourselves and our loved ones, as well as our communities.
