Well another great day and more great news.
WATER-Food-Air Where?
“There is now a solid consensus in the scientific community that if the change in global mean temperature in the 21st century exceeds 2.4 degrees Celsius, changes in the planet's climate will be large-scale, irreversible, and disastrous. Moreover, the window of opportunity for action that will make a difference is narrow – that is, the next 10 to 15 years.”

Politics? We must take over our government and make it socially fit for all of us. The newest democracy has just announced it's goal. "Happiness". We can do that too, be happy, bring happiness. We can take immediate action to deal with the shortages (IE) food, water, air. Than too a bit of energy is needed to keep from freezing to death in cold areas.
We must form community. Not fighting each other, helping each other. United we can stand, we can overcome these problems. Not easy, but that is the fun of it, a real challenge. Not some game or movie – reality TV in your own life.
Join a neighbor who knows how to grow things. Plant your window boxes with food. Find areas to garden. Collect jars to can things into. Community gardens etc. Some repair, make things. Others cook, sew. What is your "thing to do" [contribute]
Cooperative living. WOW
School? Well we can do that too. Teach each other the tricks of our new way of living. Who can dig the turnips? Honey? Oh, I mean from the Bee hives, sweet stuff. Say, didn't ol frank used to do that?
City? well things to do there too. Find earth spots and use them. Join together and go to "the garden spot". Join forces there is much knowledge in city and all can share their knowledge and handy work. Some may have to move to a spot where water is available. Together the task ain't so hard, build conservative homes. I remember Gramps telling the railroad came to town. The whole main street moved to access the railroad. Some whole towns moved to the railroad junctions.
So the great news is challenge, excitement, and responsibility for each of us. No boring days here, no way.
It is good Tuesday today. Happy Tuesday.

pps WHO warns of more poverty, disease from climate change
Climate change threatens to bring more disease and poverty around the globe, especially in Asia, the World Health Organization warned Monday as it marked this year's World Health Day. WHO Director-General Margaret Chan -- who said global warming will not only cause more natural disasters such as floods and droughts but also exacerbate such diseases as malaria -- called for stronger actions against climate change. Bruce Eggum is right--the danger is real, the time is short, and a great deal can be done.
I have two suggestions. First, if you are fearful, that's no way to make progress. Ask me for Twelve Rules for Joyful Activism (hstone@rochester.rr.com).
Second, we all do what we can, but address these problems at as large a scale as you can. Don't recycle if it distracts you from writing a letter to the paper, or educating yourself. Resist a headlong assault on a small problem, which may seem safe to think about, if that problem is a symptom of the big complex of problems. A new vision of the future is the starting point--not something to add later.
Cheers!
